This 1924 Moder R Hupmobile owned by Chris Rees is truly a rare survivor.

Unusual is the fact that is is a fully imported body from a period in time when government policy encouraged vehicle imports in "chassis & cowl" format attracting lower import tarrifs. Many cars of this era were fitted with locally made bodies by builders in each state.

Originally the personal vehicle of the service manager for South Australian Hupmobile agent Phoenix Motors, Chris obtained the vehicle from fellow club members Morrie (dec.) and Lorraine Brenton. It is in unrestored and original condition apart from some minor paintwork. Fitted with period accessories of the day from new it has been used  and carefully maintained and always garaged under cover.
