DOWN UNDER LONDON TO BRIGHTON RUN
FOR VETERAN CARS, MOTORCYCLES AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
Sunday 28th October 2018
Over 30 vehicles have been entered for the Down Under London to Brighton Run this year.
Included among them is David Bristow’s 1909 Swift Runabout which has been off the road for some time.
Other VSCC representatives entered are David Cant’s 1917 Studebaker and Gunter Tieman’s 1912 Vauxhall.
Both cars are Tourers.
The Run this year will commence in London Road, Mile End as usual;
but not in the Adelaide City Council Works Depot Car Park.
Following last year’s success we will assemble further up London Road
and be waved off by the retiring “Lord Mayor of London”, ’John Trainer oam.
John has been the Mayor of West Torrens for more than 17 years but will not contest the forthcoming Mayoral election.
In recognition of John’s contribution to and participation in the Club’s Down Under London to Brighton Run,
there will be a small ceremony to thank him.
Morning Tea will return to the CC Clubrooms and Wattle Reserve will be the finishing point.
The cars will be on display for some time while people enjoy a Running Board Lunch.
A booking has not been made for the Glenelg Club but some may wish to dine there.
An important innovation this year will be the provision of a temporary toilet at the start in London Road.
