The Restoration Trophy

The Bob Gascoigne Restoration Trophy

The restoration trophy (once known as Bob's Barometer but now known as the Bob Gascoigne Restoration Trophy) was presented by the late Bob Gascoigne in 1967. The trophy is awarded on the recomendation of a vehicle inspection committee. Cars are inspected at the request of participating members at the beginning and the end of the club year.

The trophy is open to all membership classes and is presented at the Annual lunch in July. It is awarded for the best restoration or partial restoration of an eligible vehicle as judged by the appointed sub committee for that club year. Restoration of the vehicle need not be completerd in that year nor does the work need to occupy the full year. The sub committeee takes into account the quantity and quality of work carried out, the members skills and the equipment and time frame available and whether some work has been carried out by specialists or the member.

The trophy is occasionally omitted some years
