1957 JENSEN 541 Deluxe Sports Saloon

               

This model was first introduced in 1954.  546 cars were produced between 1954 and 1963 when the new model Interceptor was announced.

               

The 541 was one of the earliest users of fibreglass bodies, and from 1956 on the earliest user of disc brakes on all four wheels on a production car.  Blinking turn indicators and overdrive on third and top gear were also early inovations on this model.


The 4 litre O.H.V. engine adopted frrom Austin and fitted with 3 S.U. carburettors and a Weslake modified cylinder head gave effortless 120 m.p.h. performance.


                 This car, the 155th made, is one of possibly only 10 in Australia.
